Audience Questionnaire

I designed a questionnaire to give to potential audiences of all ages. In this I asked multiple questions about where and how they were likely to watch short films. This would inform my decision about where my short film would go afterwards to reach the wide audience.

This is my questionnaire...

I questioned 20 people overall, 15 12-18 year olds and 5 people over 25.

And these were just some of the results...

As you can see, the majority of those asked were 12-18 year olds because these are my main target audience. However, I also asked some parents to see if they were also likely to watch my short film.

80% of people asked said they were likely to watch a short film about bullying, and the majority of these were female, suggesting that this gender is the most likely to do so.

70% of those asked would prefer to watch the film in a school environment, showing that it is a good idea to market my short film to schools as an educational piece. However, people would still watch it in their spare time therefore I asked which platform they would prefer...

The most popular platform for short films is YouTube, therefore I can upload my film here easily and this will be free. It is accessible to audiences, particularly of my target audience's age (approximately 12-18) and they can like, comment and share.

From my questionnaire, I have learned that my audience will predominantly be female 12-18 year olds, watching in a school environment or on YouTube in their spare time. I also learned that most of the people likely to watch the film have been affected by bullying, therefore it would suit these people educationally.
